Broughtonia sanguinea x Tetramicra canaliculata The Broughtonia, Cattleyopsis and Laeliopsis species are all plants from the Northern Caribbean and the Bahamas. All grow in hot mainly arid conditions and are fairly easily cultivated if certain basic environmental factors are provided. In general, they do not grow well in pots and much prefer very free draining media such as rafts of tree fern, cork, slabs of coconut husk, hard driftwood, etc. They appreciate lots of light and good air movement, and like to be allowed to thoroughly dry out before being watered. They are very intolerant of wet conditions. These plants will quickly rot it kept wet.
