Habitat: Brazil. Encyclia fowliei is found growing in the Brazilian state of Bahia where it grows near the top of trees. This species prefers coastal forests near the Atlantic coast.

One site says. --- This species apparently likes to grow very dry during the winter, and so, as with my other dry growing encyclias, I grow this one bare-root, only hanging from a wire in the greenhouse without any other support. It seems to love it.

Donor's culture notes: Temperature range W (70-90°F). I grow this species bareroot mounted on cork in a greenhouse in bright light but not direct sun, with winter temps as low as 50°F and summer temps as high as 100°F. Good humidity at all times, dry between waterings.
