Needs warm winter and drier in winter
Rupicolous - rock plant. Syn Rock Orchid. Cattleya Orchid Source says "Laelia flava needs a cool, dry winter rest period and an open, well-drained growing medium. Grow like other rupicolous laelia species. Provide very bright light and good air circulation."
Yves gave me a chunk of this circa 2010. It first bloomed in 2013 and Mac ID'd it for me. 2015 had 32 spikes with 200+ flowers. Lovely.
see other L. perrinii listing
Brazilian species, grows with good light exposure in the coastal rain forests around Rio. Also grows on rocks in bright light with lots of air movement.
Came bare root. Pot in clay with stalite, charcoal, tree fern, vermiculite. Mostly rock though.
